"And this is on of our many labs, where we create new products!" The tour guide said as she lead the class into a large room full of science equipment. Most of Mr. Bower's 6th grade class was a little more than just bored at this point, trudging along while pretending to care about the place they were in. Some kids might've saw this field trip as an exciting adventure, but in this small town there wasn't a lot of places to go, and most have already gone to Medi-Labs for a field trip before.
As they were walking through, one scientist on the side was working on a male super growth formula that would increase not only muscle mass, but overall height and health as well. However, the formula was somewhat in the unstable so far, and it vexed him. He had been so preoccupied with trying to get this formula to work that he began taking shortcuts, skipping procedures, and so on. He was actually testing it on a weak strain of bacteria in an open lab where he should have been testing it in an enclosed, sterile environment, but he wanted to work on it right away and not go through the tedious procedures. Besides, the bacteria was extremely weak, and any adult immune system would immediately destroy it.
Taking a few drops of his formula, he dropped it into a beaker full of the bacteria culture. Immediately the culture turned blue, then evaporated into a billow of smoke. The scientist swore under his breath as his work disappeared on him, but little did he know that the bacteria was still there, and now airborne. The bacteria would die within moments without proper hosts with underdeveloped immune system.
And, as fate would have it, it had plenty of host bodies to inhabit. Fourteen of them in fact. The young boys of Mr. Bower's class moved onto the next room, oblivious to what was in store for them...
