Our main character in this story is Ashlyn. She's a Fae Elf, short and skinny, and young for an elf. She's got dark blue eyes and very light blonde hair. Her skin is extremely pale, almost paper-white. She typically wears a raggedy brown dress, but sometimes she is allowed to wear a maid uniform when guests are visiting. Ashlyn belongs to a wealthy Human family, the Magstons, who keep her as a house servant in their large mansion. Some of her masters are friendly and nice to her, and other seek only to abuse, torture, or humiliate her. The Magstons include Master Arthur who was an accomplished wizard and businessman, his wife and amateur artist Mistress Crystal, and their young children Dean and Misty.
Aslyn was hard at work cleaning the Magston Mansion. She had just finished washing the dishes from breakfast and needed to stay occupied so she didn't look like she was lazy or useless... Ashlyn knew the sad and painful fate of any slave considered lazy, useless, or old. So she was extra motivated to be a hard worker today! Thinking hard, Ashlyn remembered two big jobs that had to be done around the house: Fixing Misty's favorite chair (she broke it leaning backwards not long ago) and cleaning out the filthy fireplace.
