Francine watched as Gary Gumble entered the school, a fear in his eyes and a couple of bruises on his arm. Francine frowned. Gary was new to the neighborhood and the school, but it was clear that his relationship with his parents was somewhat abusive. Many people suspected that the parents treated Gary poorly, both verbally and physically, but since Greg didn't talk about it, nobody could really do anything.

Francine knew this boy desperately needed an out. And she could put him into the position to make sure his parents don't hurt anybody else.
