"So, 'big boy', how was the party?" Paula asked. Simon rolls his eyes. "It was... different." he responds. Paula continues to question "You meet anyone girlfriend material?" "I'm not sure. It's kind of hard to learn stuff about people when they're drunk out of their minds." Simon sighs.
After walking along for a while, talking about their respective schedules, they eventually make it to a crosswalk. Stopping and waiting for traffic, Simon notices that Paula is eye level with him. Simon was taken a bit back as they start walking again. "Since when did you wear heels?" he asked. Paula looked at him quizzically, responding with "Since never? What are you talking about?" Simon looked down, and, sure enough, Paula was in her usual running shoes. He looked up, and, sure enough, he was looking her directly in the eye. "Wait." he said, halting his walk.. "Stop a minute. Something's weird." Paula stops besides him. "Alright." she asks. "what's up?" "Okay." Simon says. "Look directly at me." she does so. "Now just stare for a second." After a few moments, Simon sees Paula quickly blink twice. She looks down, then back up.
"Wait. Why are." she looks down and back up again. "How did... you shrinking or something 'big boy'?" "Umm... no." Simon responds. "I think you might be getting taller though." Paula just looks at him as if he's joking. "Simon, I'm a nineteen year old girl. I'm not due for another growth spurt until never." "But you are taller, you can't argue that." Simon says, matter-a-factly. Paula is taken aback . "I can't be... but... now that you say it, this shirt is feeling a bit tight... what the fuck is going on? This shit doesn't just happen?"
