Chapter #5

Jessica

by: Ocean Puncher Author IconMail Icon
You were here to visit your law school friend Jessica. She was thin and a bit pale, with skinny arms and legs. She was 5'7, with blonde hair, beautiful blue eyes, and a white shining smile. She was thin but still had some curves, with pleasing if not enormous breasts. She was driven and hard working, though prone to nervousness and self-doubt though she always pulled through.

She started Law School engaged and with a giant ring on her finger. She was well off and many people in her family were lawyers.
You were both top students at the local school, and after a chance group project became close friends and study buddies. You made a great team, being both very similar and very different. Whereas she was studious, organized, and always sat in the front row, you were a bit sloppy, disorganized, and often tried to avoid class discussion by sitting near the back. However, you were able to write well and although you were a poor note taker you had a great memory. You complemented each other well and had similar personalities, tending to be quiet and a bit weird. However, your interests were very different, she loved sports and you were more of a traditional nerd. Regardless, you both seemed to click. You had a strangely close connection due to shared anxieties and became each other's confidants throughout your first year until now, your last. While you could almost feel yourself falling for her, the ring always stopped you from going too far with your thoughts though they were there. People would point out jokingly how much time you would spend together but it was always school related. You both wouldn't admit it but you loved each other, however there hadn't been any tinges of romance or lust. It was something...else.

Anyway, that's why you were here. You were a bit nervous when you got her call asking you to come to the maternity ward of the hospital. She sounded nervous and you knew she would be there for you so didn't ask any questions. You hoped it wasn't anything too bad, as you were both nearing the end of law school and you hoped it wouldn't delay her graduation. In fact, as you walked down the hall to her room, you realized she didn't look pregnant before and hadn't mentioned anything about starting a family with her fiancee. She seemed like her focus was on school and then after graduation and the bar she had her Wedding date set.

You walked into her room, knocking first

"Come in" Jessica Says. She is alone, and you notice she is in bed wearing a gown. While this distresses you, Jessica seems fine, glowing even. She smiles at you and asks you to close the door.

"I got her as soon as I could, are you alright? Need me to call anyone or get you anything."

She laughed. "That's why I called you, you're so dependable, I wouldn't have made it through law school without you. But no, I'm fine I've already made all the calls I need to and I'll be here a few days but I'll be ok. I've already talked to the school and they told me to just bring a note when I come back. D and Holly said they'd let me see their notes."

"That's just like you always planning things around school, I'm just glad you're okay but you probably need to take this as an opportunity to relax. Or maybe you're hoping to knock me out of the top 10%!" You tease, as you often joked about her competitiveness and because you and her had almost identical GPAs.

"Well that's sort of what I wanted to talk to you about. See I think we make a great team, and I'm serious right now I'm not joking, I don't think I can lose you. I think you feel the same about me. That's why I think we need to stay together. I want a family, and I want you in it. I have a fiance but I love you in a different way, I want you to...."
