The doctor's take you in to see her

Dr. Kerry walked around the wheelchair, opting to look Tim straight in the eyes.
"Alright, Timmy. But keep in mind, though your mother's still alive, the way she looks now might cause some disconnect with the situation. Do you want to go alone, or do you want your father-"
"Actually, " Paul interrupted. "I have to check on Tabitha and David. They're most likely worried sick without me. So Tim's gonna have to go alone."
Tim couldn't tell whether his father was being sincere, or making an excuse with his announcement. But he put his feelings aside when it came to his mother. Putting on his most stoic look, Tim turned to the doctors with resolution.
"That's alright. They probably really need you there anyway, Dad. I'll check on mom for you. Let's go."

After what seemed like a mile of rolling himself along, and going down one floor, Tim and the doctors were outside the room where his mother was being monitored.
"Again, I just want to remind you, Tim," Dr. Saunders said. "That though she may look radically different to the way she was before, the woman in that room is still your mother, alright?"
"I understand. Now, if one of you could just..." Tim said as he reached for the door.
Dr. Kerry quickly opened the door for him.
"Take all the time you need. She should be awake by now."
Tim proceeded in, and the door softly closed behind him. The curtains were wide open, making sure the room was well lit. Both the heart monitor and EKG machines beeped and kept note of Jennifer's state. Tim rolled next to her, and looked intensely at his mother's new appearance. To Tim, there was only one word that came to mind.
