I watched as the worker, a kid with greasy blonde hair, snatched a taco shell from a full bin. The door slammed just as another shell started tumbling out on its own.
"Uh? Hey? Can I please have my taco?" I tried to be as polite as I was trying to sound. The blonde kid tirned toward me and I saw "it" was a girl. I didn't know why I felt relieved.
"Yeah! YOU know where I'm coming from! Just fix me my taco!"
She grimaced threateningly at me. Then smiled. Her upper teeth missing allowed her tongue to flick and flip out like a crazy reptile. I tossed a five onto the counter,
"Look, Just give me my taco? Keep the change!" I grabbed my tray holding my one taco and a soda.
"Sure! You're gonna LOVE the special surprise!" The worker looked hard at me through an attitude that was hard to read. I reflexively glanced down at my taco and saw something moving!
