The principal can expect you all he likes but you have no intention of listening to another lecture on proper behavior in class. Instead you just walk out of the school and head to the mall.
Sure, you're going to cop it when you get home but that was going to happen anyway. This way you get to at least enjoy the afternoon.
Eventually it's time to go home and face the music. To your surprise, your parents make no mention of your skipping class. Is it possible that the school didn't call? Maybe they didn't even notice.
You are surprised to find that your mother has made your favorite, spaghetti. You don't question it and just enjoy the meal. "Maybe I should skip class tomorrow too." you say to yourself.
Once you are finished, you stand up to head to your room but you find your legs rather wobbly. Your mother is nearby and notices you struggling to maintain balance. "Oh dear, I didn't expect it to work so quickly." She says, holding your hand to steady you.
"What do you mean?" is what you try to say. However, it comes out as incomprehensible babble.
"Come on." she says, gently leading you to your room. "Let's get you changed for bed."
