Nothing but horses in this one. Everything goes as long as it is horse related.

Chapter #6

Glitter Is Talking

    by: Gator Author IconMail Icon
It was the ever-so condescending eyes of Glitter that were casting down upon you. The white mare must have crept up behind you while you were unpacking the tools.

In spite of her natural equine weight and hooves, Glitter was quite the expert when it came to moving unheard, no doubt a spawn of all the training her foot-work had undergone to become award-winning. When she wished to, she could move across any hard surface, be it wood or stone or metal, without a single clop seemingly detectable by human hearing, and she loved to use this skill to mess with her handlers – especially you. Just another reason you hate working with this mare.

You couldn’t quite decide which of the dozen incidents had been the worst, but three stood out: the time she had startled you when you had been carrying a heavy bag of horse feed, causing you to drop it to the floor and for it to burst into a mess you had to waste time cleaning up; the time she had unleashed a booming neigh point-blank into your unsuspecting face when you had turned around, so loud that you’re eardrums hurt just remembering it; or the time she had positioned her derriere directly behind you, so when you turned you received a face-full of her left cheek before being bounced back into a stumble, barely saving yourself from falling on your ass. Each time, after taking a moment to admire her handiwork, Glitter would give an infuriating nicker before smugly strutting away.

You blinked a fair few times at the mare looming over you before shaking your head. Guess all the exhausting, horrible work at this farm was driving you mad. With a comforting pat to your aching butt, you pushed yourself up, shimmied past the mare, and returned to inspecting the bag of tools, still open on the floor. Perhaps you'd go for Glitter's least favorite item first. It's only fair, you reason, after the pain she's caused your poor-

WHACK!

"AH!" You shrieked as something lashed across the back of your head. Hurt and angry, you snapped around to see the huge, white read-end of the show mare, having taken the place of her front half while your back had been turned, her tail, no doubt what had just been used to whip your skull, slowly swinging back-and-forth to a stop. Glancing from behind that big rump, Glitter looked back at you with an irritated glare in her eyes.

Then her lips moved.

"I. Said." Came that feminine voice from between them. "What. Are. You. Doing?"

The soreness across the back of your head, while it didn’t vanish, faded into background. Your eyes felt as if they might outgrow their sockets. Glitter, a horse, was talking to you.

You had came to suspect a lot of things from this place – such as your haunting suspicion that they were going to flat-out feed you to a horse when your time here was up, rather than let you go home – but you had honestly never suspected this. A horse’s skull was simply too different from a human’s to properly form words, after all. Reality would dictate that a talking horse was naught but a pipe-dream. Then again, so was getting swallowed alive by a horse, but a strange feeling, which you hoped was fear, kept that pipe-dream clinging on in the back of your mind.

Now here Glitter was. Talking.

Then what else wasn’t just a pipe-dream?

"Y-You… can… y-you can talk?" You manage to stutter out.

Like a serpent striking without warning, Glitter’s tail shot up and lashed you on the cheek, taking you completely by surprise in your mentally overwhelmed state. While it wasn’t as powerful as the one delivered prior, and thus thankfully didn’t sting as much, it still earned a hiss and grimace from you.

"Answer the question." The feminine voice – Glitter’s voice – said sternly, as she stamped a back hoof against the floor in a threatening manner.

The threat of being kicked instead of whipped now on the table, you take a second to stabilize yourself, drawing in a deep breath and letting it out, before answering the mare’s demand. "I-I was going to brush you."

The mare snorts. “No, you are not.” She saunters around, coming to face you once again with her chin held high, assuming her beloved position of looking down on you. “I have already been brushed and cleaned today, and by far more experienced hands than your lowly ones.” With a self-absorbed smirk, she shakes her neck, showing off her unblemished white mane. “Though... I shouldn’t be surprised your simple peanut brain couldn’t see that.”

“You see, peanut brain, the real reason you are with me today is…”

You have the following choices:

1. “… to be my sexual relief!”

*Noteb*
2. “… to preform my internal checkup!”

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
