Chapter #7

Alicia from 1996 hasn't time-traveled; you ...

    by: Unknown
You walk up the pathway to the front door. You can’t help but notice something different about the house. The walls are a light brownish color rather than the creamy white color they usually are. In the driveway instead of the usual car Which is a Kia Sportage colored a cobalt blue you except to see when you go to her house was a black Lincoln town car. It looked like it was fresh from the shop and had actual metal bumpers rather than hard plastic. There wasn’t a brick wall around the yard which usually stands up to your thighs in height instead there was a white picket fence with a half inch gap Between each board. “They must have remodeled but there is no time for that we have to get you inside.” You continue down the pathway but notice something. The crack that split the path down the middle wasn’t there. You remember her parents saying that the crack happened because when they were replacing the path someone fell on it at night and cracked it leaving only a print of their butt on it. They tried to fix it one year you know as you were there but it was too late the damage was done. “They must have repaired it finally. Well let’s finally get you in.” You finally reach the dark oak door and notice it has a brass knocked with the design of a lions head on it holding the ring. “I don’t remember that. Maybe this is the wrong house.” You look back and check the address “no this is it” ignoring the distraction you go to the door and ring the doorbell but it doesn’t make a sound so you use the knocker instead. You hear rustling from the other side of the door before it opens. In the door frame was a very familiar figure. He had black hair finely combed with a similar bushy mustache. He was wearing a pair of black glasses with square frames and a open suit with a white dress shirt underneath with a black tie to match. “Hello may I help you? We are in the middle of something.” You are wondering what “if you don’t mind me asking what are you doing? I may be able to help.” He looks at you trying to decide what to say “well we are in the middle of unpacking. We are new to the neighborhood.” You can’t believe what you are hearing. You ask if he has the same name as your girlfriends dad and to your shock he responds in a serious voice “Why yes I am but how did you know that? Have we met before?” You say in a shocked voice “it’s sort of hard to say. Oh look at the time I have to get going but here take her” you give him the baby and he gets a expression of joy over his face. “Thank you we couldn’t find her we looked but she escaped. We had the police searching for her and everything I can’t thank you enough.” As he is finishing up the sentence you were out of ear range. You run across the road and are almost hit by a car who is quite angry at you for not looking both ways. You look around trying to decide what to do.
