After escaping the military base, the Shadow Kaiju wander off with no direction. She tried to hide from the public and disguises herself as other shadows. It was daylight so she needs a host to stay alive. When suddenly she was caught by Vivian, the girl who is the main protagonist of this story, in an alley.
The girl looked at the Shadow Kaiju move and the girl showed no fear except some excitement.
"Wow, are you like a shadow monster? I never met a monster in real life.", asked Vivian.
The shadow nodded and seem to like her a bit more. She then shrunk down to Vivian size and act as her shadow, The shadow then looked at Vivian with some interest.
"You need a host. Well you can live with me if you want since your pretty friendly and cool. Also my name is Vivian."
The shadow was happy to hear this, but suddenly a boy appeared and pushed Vivian. He was pretty big and all. Vivian stumbled back and gazed at the bully.
"Who are you talking to purple?", asked the bully.
He continued to harass the young girl until the shadow had enough. The shadow grew at tall height or as tall as a regular Kaiju girl. The shadow formed a beast like form and roared. The whole place got dark and the bully decided to run. The shadow grabbed him and ate him whole. She then spits him out as he flew out of the alley.
The alley then turned from a hellish darkness place to a regular alley. The Shadow then shrunk down and in the shape of Vivian again. The girl was amazed at that and said.
"Wow your so amazing. Where were you in my life?", asked Vivian.
The shadow gave a gesture of modesty.
"Do you have a name?", asked the girl.
The shadow shock her head.
"How about I name you Grim based on what you did?"
The shadow nodded with glee.
"Okay, let's go home."
Grim followed Vivian like most shadows do and then went to a home that has bight colors. Apparently it really contrast with Vivian's dark shade of clothes.
"Welcome to you new home Grim.", said Vivian.
The shadow looked at the bright furniture which made it flinch a bit. The girl notice this and then guided the shadow to her room which is the exact opposite of what the house it. Vivian's room is filled with horror based things such as action figures, DVD sets, posters, books, and all kinds of weird stuff. The shadow seems to like this more.
"I'm glad you like my room. Sorry if you don't like the rest of my house. My parents has this taste for bright colors.", said Vivian.
So far her parents aren't home and she has homework which she finishes first as fast as she could while trying to entertain Shadow a bit. She let Grim play with her action figures and tries to make sure that they don't break.
After that's done, she then found a note on the refrigerator that says that her parents are out for the night and dinner is in the fridge. She thought about watching a horror flick on T.V. and eat popcorn instead of leftovers. She could do this with a friend for once since Grim wasn't afraid of her like most people. Then suddenly a thought strikes through her mind.
She could use Grim's powers to get back at the kids in school. They always have bullied her about her interest and how she is a witch. She might take sometime to plan her revenge. So Vivian thought about...
