Inside a large, hollow tree

They had been in luck when they found the hollow tree in question; the tree had been struck by lightning and could no longer grow, leaving the inside preserved. It was a very large and old tree which served as their hideout, and, with the addiion of some two by fours and nails, some preserver and some clear ABS and sealant, the tree had become a rather nice place to hang out and play around when she had wanted to get away from the world.
She soon spotted the tree, which had been marked by the round window in the front. The tree thanks to it's renovation, looked reminiscent of the majority of houses from Winnie the Pooh, perhaps even inspired by said cartoon, considering it had been a childhood classic of both Tai-Lee and her cousin, Ash, but it had two key differences with the cartoon counterparts; one, the tree looked gnarled and weathered, much unlike the lively and vivid ones from Winnie the Pooh; and two, there was no real door, more an opening in the wall from the lightning bolt.
