You open your eyes and find yourself lying on a bed, staring up at the ceiling. You look around and realize you are in a chain-motel room somewhere near a highway; the sound of rushing cars drifts steadily in through the window. Getting up and stretching, you walk over to the open window and look outside. It's nightime, and the lights of various restaurants, gas stations, and other motels shine in the dark. You realize that you must be at some sort of travel stop for people on long trips. Moving away from the opening, you poke around the room, looking for clues as to how you got there. The last thing you remember was that woman accepting your request for a ride and falling asleep. Obviously she brought you here and rented you a room, but you can find no sign of her. Surely she wouldn't have abandoned you after letting you hitch a ride with her? She would have just dumped you at the side of the road if that were the case, you know it. But still...
