Giant trouble

The announcement of giant proportions was the landing of rock against Marina sending her tumbling backward despite the efforts of protection magic. She tried to collect herself but was having a hard time focusing on her vision.

“Gorga crush human,” a hill strode confidently towards them. The stench was powerful and the priest prayed for rain to alleviate some of the noxious odors. He was a particularly ugly specimen with a mouth slacked open with drool streaming out. The giant carried a club or rather a tree trunk with the branches knocked off swung at Timothy smashing the ground he was standing upon.

“You will have to do better than that,” Timothy’s flail lit up with divine power as he struck the hand of the giant.

The hideous creature cried out in pain releasing his grip on his weapon to suck at the fresh injury, “You hurt Gorga. Gorga hurt you.”

There was little room to dodge on the mountain. The foot of the giant struck the breastplate slamming the priest into the cliffside. He grunted in pain but was glad to not have been sent flying over the edge. Gorga paused a moment to rub his toe where it had struck the armor.

“Gorga squish you.” the giant howled.

It would have been hilarious if it weren’t so dangerous. The giant was hopping slowly forward shaking the mountain as he approached with certain death. If the tumbling rocks didn’t kill them all first. Even the giant had to swat away a few.

“Anytime you could help would be great,” he had prepared himself against undead not giants and had expected Marina to take care of larger threats. A blast of celestial fire halted the approach for a moment but he didn’t have much else to call upon.

Marina had recovered enough to cast a transformation spell. The giant changed into . . .
