Eric felt something prodding him to awaken but his body felt sore and unresponsive to his commands but the poking was insistent, not allowing him to go back to slumber. He started to remember what had happened before he had passed out and knew he might be in danger so he only cracked his eyes open to see what he was dealing with.
It appeared that there was a small crowd of people gathered around him and not the orcs allies he feared he would have to deal with. They appeared to be traders so with more than a little effort he got up to his feet drawing smiles from the people to see that he was still alive. Eric would have been a little happier if they didn’t use a stick to wake him as if he was some sort of animal instead of a human being.
He stood up to his full height and was disturbed to discover that he barely reached the shoulders of the men surrounding him. The barbarian was used to towering over other humans so unless he was around a group of giants, he had shrunk. He growled at what the alchemist had done to him but it came out more like a purr and knew that his size was not the only thing that had changed about him or rather her.
Eric was a female with large breasts hanging from his chest as long crimson locks spilled into view. The men around her appeared to be leering at the impressive cleavage and she became flush with anger at their behavior but tried to calm herself as she realized she wasn’t carrying a weapon with her at the moment. She stormed away from them to gather her equipment and tried to prevent her hide armor from falling to the ground to reveal her naked body to the world.
The corpses had fresh spear holes in their bodies, likely to make sure they were dead but thankfully they weren’t picked clean so she was able to collect the hand ax from the body of the alchemist and took the remaining potions and herbs from the body. There was a chance that there was an antidote from the condition she suffering from but she doubted it. Orcs believed those that had accidents should suffer the consequences for their errors but if the orc had more of the potion that transformed Eric might find a path to a cure.
“What happened here, young lady?” One of the guards asked her as he leaned on his spear.
“The orcs wanted to take me as a slave but they found I was unwilling,” Eric gathered the remainder of her weapons though the effort to lift her great ax was a lot more than she was used to. It looked like she would have to purchase a horse from the traders if she wanted to take everything with her. “I need to buy a horse, are you willing to part with one.”
