The group makes its way into the swamp after a quick breakfast. Fina decided not to embarrass Albert with his prank from the night before. The path they took is safe for the horses but too narrow to go anymore than single file. Fina felt disappointed not to able to chat as they traveled though she understood the wisdom of it. The stories of dark rituals being performed in the swamps should make one wary.
Fina only knew the most basic details of the problem her father never sharing any of his machinations. Her sole source of information her handmaidens'. They constantly shared gossip but the veracity often questionable. As usual the gossip ran in the steamy direction with stories of maidens stolen away in the night to be used in foul perverted rituals. Their chastity forcibly taken in every way imaginable. Juicy details that no one could possibly know unless they participated. Nervous at the idea for the shadowy menace abusing her she looked to Garrett figure for courage. While drawing breath he would let do harm to come to her.
Sir Garrett kept his senses sharp trying to hear the approach of any foe. Scant information he knew left them more vulnerable than they should be. Part of him regretted bringing Fina with her inexperience. Her safety came before his. He spoke briefly with Albert that if the situation grew dire his duty would be to escort Fina to safety. Albert understood his duty in this Garrett trusted. He hoped they could get through tonight safely before they face whatever danger awaited them.
Albert pondered trying to scare Princess Fina again but decided the idea beneath him. Garrett told him he still had much youth in him. Right now he agreed. He thought about apologizing but hesitated not wishing to further sour the relationship.
