Marina decided running was her best option because she had grown very good at traveling through the forest, and this area was familiar to her, plus she heard the sound of what might be the salvation for this situation. Some of the enemy was marching down the road and wouldn’t they be surprised to see a pack of wolves led by a deer.
The soldiers heard noises from the woods but they weren’t able to draw their weapons before the animal had started passed them in a rush. Several of the men laughed at the strange behavior of the animal but it was short lived as the pack of wolves entered the road giving chase. Panic filled the men as they drew their blades to use against the fearsome animals. The wolves responded to the assault with snapping jaws leaving Marina to escape.
She debated trying to finish off the troops or if she should head off to finish her mission. Marina hated leaving the animals who attacked to be killed by the soldiers but she had a job to do that would save a lot of lives and a lot of the forest the animals roamed through. She paused for a moment debating if she had the time to save the animals. They had just been following their natural impulses.
