Seras spotted the bandits long before the guards called out any warning to the train, but announcing it would be unwise to announce what she had seen because she didn’t want to reveal herself as someone who was alert or a threat. Playing the damsel in distress set many people at ease but it could be difficult for someone who saw them self as a predator. She would have to slip into the back of the wagon and hide out when the attack happened and hope the guards could do there job. Maybe if the bandits waited until dark she could slip around camp taking out enemies, but she didn’t have much luck.
Howls and battles whoops filled the air as armed men poured out of the woods clattering their weapons against metal to make more noise and chaos. Many of the horses panicked at the sudden noise charging forward frequently crash the wagons. Seras had purchased experienced well trained animals who barely spared a glance to the strange men making so much noise before continuing their slow walk forward.
The guards to their credit maintained calm and launched a counter attack the bandits were not ready for slaying several of the criminals. Numbers were not on the guard’s side and time would whittle them down to nothing. The question was how involved did Seras want to get. She could go all out and reveal herself or try to do strategic strikes and hope to hide in shadow but possibly fail to stop the threat, or she try to change her appearance and attack that way but it would waste a lot of time.
