It was a Friday morning in May and Allison did not want to get up for school. There was still a month of school left and she was ready for the summer. She couldn't wait to be done with the fiftht grade and with elementary school. Allison groggily crawled out of bed and made her way to the bathroom. Her head was spinning and she felt way more tired than she usually did in the morning.
Ow, why does my head hurt? Allison wondered as she looked in the mirror.
That's when she suddenly remembered the dream she had last night, the voice in her head. It had told her that she now had the power to swap anything with another person as long as she had their permission. For whatever reason, Allison just knew it had to be true for some reason.
Excited to test it out, Allison burst out of the bathroom, almost plowing into her older brother Mark, who was on his way downstairs.
"Watch it, twerp!" Mark snapped at his little sister before going on his way.
"Mark, be nice to your sister!" their mother's voice called out from the other room. Allison stuck her tongue out at her brother before retreating to her room to finish getting ready.
Once she was dressed, Allison headed downstairs and took stock of her options. Her father John was about to leave for work while the rest of her family was in the kitchen at this point.
