It was a hot summer day. There was hardly a cloud in the sky, but the sun's heat wasn't too unbearable.
RJ was lounging on one of the branches of the large tree in his backyard. He was wearing a black t-shirt and a pair of khaki shorts, he wasn't wearing any shoes because RJ liked the feeling of being bare-foot.
He was on summer vacation, so he didn't have to worry about school for a long time. His parents had also signed him up for little league baseball for the summer, which RJ did enjoy. Many of the boys on his team were either a bit older than he was, or just plain bigger than him. His parents seemed a bit worried about that, since RJ was their only child they wanted to make sure they were taking proper care of him, so they seemed to think RJ was not as big as he should be.
As RJ sat in the tree, he thought about his sixth birthday party, which was only three days from now. It was going to be a sleepover at his house with all his friends from school and the baseball team. What also seemed rather coincidental was that he had a baseball game the afternoon after the sleepover.
His thoughts were interrupted when his mom called him in.
