"Too many loose ends, I need to be discreet...

Nonsense! She was the Princess of the Night and queen of all its shadows. She could eat her sister under cover of darkness and nonody would notice.

Luna smiled diabolically and set herself to bed. Once the harsh rays of her sister's sun had set, Luna would awaken and feast.


Luna was awoken by a ravenous growl from her stomach. A toothy smile spread across her muzzle as she rose from her bed. The sun's rays were only a slight tickle to her eyes. Reflexively, Luna approached the window and lit her horn, raising the moon from it's resting place under the horizon.

Once the full moon was shining brightly in the sky, Luna felt her hunger grow from the drain on her energy. Fitting, isn't it? That the sun should set as its Princess does. Luna made her way out into the hallway, where a short walk between her room and the golden doors of Celestia's room awaited her. Crossing the distance in short order, Luna raised her hoof to the door and rapped on it gently.

"Coming!" came Celestia's voice from the other side of the door, which soon creaked open and revealed Celestia herself, her lithe body bereft of her accoutrements.

"Good evening, Luna," greeted Celestia. Luna's stomach rumbled suddenly and she could feel her mouth watering. "Is something the matter, Luna?"

"Just a tad hungry, sister. I could use some breakfast."

"Oh! Then you can join me. I'm still in the middle of dinner." Luna walked in at her sister's invitation.

Her hunger now at a breaking point, Luna turned around to see...
