Almost two hours later Applejack was in chains, inside the cage. The chains were the strongest they could find, checked for weak links over and over again. The cage was made to contain grizzly bears, also well kept for this occasion. Applejack has already requested the chains to be tightened up despite the fact that she could barely breath as it is.
All three ponies stared at the clock hanging from the wall, only one more minute. They all were shivering as the dreaded hour drew closer, the hour that would turn Applejack into a pony eating monster. Finally the clock striked midnight and Applejack doubled over. Big Macintosh and Braeburn stared in horror as their sister and cousin groaned and moaned. She started to salivate and as she got up again she had a vicious grin on her face. "There is my meal for the night, let me out so I can eat you up." At this point their family member was gone, replaced by the monster of the curse.
She struggled against the chains with a great force, making the steel groan in protest. "I SAID LET ME OUT! I'M HUNGRY!" She wailed as she tossed and turned. Big Macintosh gasped as one of the chain end came undone. It laid close enough so he could grab it with his teeth so he dove his through the bars and bit down on it. His teeth hurt as he pulled Applejack against the cage wall but he endured it, fairly certain that what awaited him if he failed would hurt even more. He started to bang his sisters body against the wall, hoping this would get her to stay still.
