Help the boy as best you can

    by: Yote Author IconMail Icon
"Open wide and say 'Aaah'... No, open your mouth wide."

With a quizzical frown, Jesse closes her legs and opens her mouth. "Ahhh." Her canine teeth are unusually pronounced, her pink tongue showing early signs of forking. You press the back of your hand to her forehead. Either she's running one hell of a fever, or she's well on her way to becoming a full demon. The last test proves it. Rummaging through her long, blonde tresses, you locate the two small but unmistakable bony lumps jutting from her skull just above her hairline. Baby horns.

Joshua watches you keenly as you inspect his grandson. For Jesse's sake, you walk out of earshot before giving your diagnosis.

"The demon's essence was in the milk you took from it, that's how it was affecting your village. The boy must have been drinking it for weeks. Coupled with his age and what I suspect might be some innate magical attunement, it's taken deep hold in him. He's perhaps over half-succubus already. Best case scenario, without the milk the demon essence will just burn itself out. He'll become a normal woman, ready to be married off, settle down and start a family."

"That's the best we can hope for?!"

"Worst case, the essence will become self-sustaining, corrupting his body and mind further, and he'll mature into a cock-hungry sex demon, slaking his unholy appetites on the lusts of men."

Joshua pales. "Goddess have mercy. There must be something you can do," he whispers desperately.

There might be, but it will take time. A stab of guilt twists in your stomach, after all it is your fault the boy is stuck. Had you just killed Hera, the tainting effects of her essence on the villagers would have evaporated. Your duty requires that you find and slay the Broodmother as soon as possible, but at the same time you can't just leave the boy like this...

With a sigh of resignation, you admit, "There's nothing I can do, but a cleric or a priestess..."

"We have a chapel here!" the Elder exclaims.

You try not to laugh at the crude shack the villagers call a chapel. "That won't be enough. It'll need to be a church or a cathedral, and a full exorcism performed by highly trained religious professionals. I can take him to the nearest town, hopefully they can provide the help he needs."

"I will take him," the Elder says with surprising fierceness.

"A shame there's only the one horse, else I'd agree with you. The boy will be safe with me. Go tell him to pack, I want to get a few hours ride in before evening."

Joshua goes grudgingly, nursing unspoken reservation. Glancing around, you search out your new familiar, finding her crouched beside one of the houses, peeking out at the three young men who had flanked Joshua, who are in turn ogling the fecund form of Jesse as she sits by the fire. They're making a poor job of hiding it. Their faces fall as Joshua orders Jesse away, then turns on them. You can't hear his words but you're sure he's giving then a tongue lashing.

"Nicely done," you say sarcastically, stepping behind Herebrine. "Thanks to you, that boy is more of a succubus than you are."

"Hey, I didn't ask them to milk me!" she shouts defensively. "... Although I did enjoy it. Especially the one with the big hands..." she giggles.

"The nearest town is Tulbeck, two days ride away. I'm taking the boy there. Hopefully the priestess there can purge your taint out of him." Two days there, two days back. You just hope the Study will be sympathetic regarding your unscheduled detour. Probably not, they hate it when wizards stray outside mission parameters.

You sit by the fire, eating what scant food the village can provide while your horse is made ready.

"Muuum, stop it. I'll be fine," Jesse moans, stomping sulkily through the village towards you. A woman who could at first glance be her sister struggles to pull a heavy woolen hat over Jesse's ears.

"I just want to make sure you wrap up warm," Jesse's mother says, rubbing her red, watery eyes. "And make sure to eat right. And do everything that the wizard tells you! And don't talk to any strange men. In fact, I don't want you to talking to any men at all. Even if they seem nice. Especially if they seem nice!"

"Mum, you're embarrassing me in front of the wizard!" Jesse groans, squirming out of her mothers grip as she holds her tightly and peppers her with kisses. She hurries over to you, red-faced and sullen, shoulders slumped. "Can we go now, please, before she starts crying again," she mumbles.

She has a satchel slung over one shoulder and has been dressed in the only things that fit, her mother's clothes. A frayed traveling cloak, patchwork from multiple repair jobs, shields her from the cold, while underneath she wears a close-fitting, pale green dress, stretched noticeably tight around her demon-enhanced curves. Your eyes drift...

A loud cough startles you. Joshua stands behind you. "The horse is ready. A word before you go, wizard," he says quietly, as Herebrine and Jesse race off towards the stables with childish glee. He shakes your hand firmly. "On behalf of our humble village, I thank you for everything you've done, master wizard. Without you, the demon would undoubtedly continued to poison us, until we were all driven away, dead, or worse. We owe you a debt of gratitude that can never be repaid. But if you so much as lay a finger on my grandson, by the Goddess I swear I'll hunt you down, rip your bollocks off, and feed them to your so called companion." He is still smiling, still shaking your hand. Your fingers have started to turn blue. "So keep him safe and keep your hands to yourself. Understand."

"Yes, sir," you wince, rubbing blood back into your fingers as he finally releases his grip.

You enter the stable to find your two companions squabbling over which of them gets to sit up front on the horse. Its going to be a long trip...

"I should by front cause I want to hold the horses mane!" Jesse yells.

"I want to be front so I can feel masters cock in my ass," Herebrine screams back.

"I don't even know what that means! Stop making up words!"

They scuffle briefly until you step in, physically separating them.

You have the following choices:

*Noteb*
1. Jesse can sit up front

2. Herebrine will sit up front

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
