Accept the help and play along

Ok, can you help me find something that will make me look good? The shop assistant went and got a pretty looking dress. Jane thinks to herself, why would I wear this? Jane decides to go home and try and explain this to her parents. However when she gets home her parents say to her 'where were you' and they appear to react normally, as if Jane has been a girl for your whole life. Jane quickly runs to her room and sees it is covered with posters of boys and the wall is now a pink colour. Jane decides to fall asleep. The next day, she isn't sure what to do.
