Chapter #22

Swollen Sam

    by: ikearct Author IconMail Icon
"Oh, I... No, I didn't forget... I've just been busy with classes and..." Alice stammered nervously. Despite her new found confidence thanks to Megan and Ronnie, Alice still struggled with mostly everyone else at the school, and Sam was just so... Unique.

However, Alice more than likely would have noticed the pierced up, black haired girl in a crowd if it hadn't been for the rather drastic change in physical appearance. For one thing, Sam had cut her hair much shorter, no longer the chest length it once was. But the most prominent change was to her figure! Alice recalled Sam to be quite the skinny thing, but now... It reminded her of the first time she saw her sister after she had left for Buttercombe.

Sam clearly was still wearing the uniform she had been originally assigned during opening weekend, but from the looks of it, one or two more meals would be the end of it. Sam's pale white skin stuck out of the bottom of her shirt by a few inches, puffing outwards. The skirt in question looked unreasonably uncomfortable, cutting hard into Sam's waist, causing a considerable muffin-top. And although it had been a month, Alice was quite sure that the rather sharp features of Sam's pierced face had gotten slightly rounder...

"Aw, just give up. You forgot and that's that. Still, I'm sure we can still catch lunch sometime... Wanna eat together right now? My arms are fuckin' tired of carrying this shit." Sam said, wiggling the cheesecake in front of Alice.

"Oh, um... Yeah, I'm eating with my R.A., you can definitely come sit with us!" Alice said, getting excited at the potential of making a third friend at Buttercombe.

"Oh, man, an R.A.? Is she a bitch?" Sam asked wearily, seemingly put off by the prospect.

"Ronnie's sweet! She isn't a... She's not mean!" Alice said, obviously straying away from cursing, as she had been raised not to use foul language.

"If you say so... Not like I'll care, I'm gonna demolish this cheesecake." Sam shrugged.

As they made their way to the table, Ronnie loudly exclaimed "Oh, there you are! I was about to starve to death!" She fake swooned, placing the back of her hand on her forehead and pretending to topple over in her seat, eliciting a giggle from Alice and a groan from Sam. "And who is this?" Ronnie inquired before taking a massive bite out of the scone.

"I'mff tham!" Sam attempted to speak, despite the massive amount of cheesecake she had already stuffed into her face. She coughed a bit, swallowed, and tried again. "Fuck! I'm Sam."

Ronnie made a face, somewhat bemused at Sam's generous usage of cursing in front of a stranger, but smiled none the less, and exclaimed "Hello! I'm Ronnie, I'm an R.A. here!"

Sam didn't respond, her mouth already stuffed with cheesecake yet again, and merely nodded at Ronnie. Alice, already feeling uncomfortable, meekly took a bite out of her scone, despite feeling uncomfortably full. After finishing more than half the cheesecake slice in a few bites, Sam let out a rather loud burp before asking Alice "So, whatcha been up to, Miss Priss?"

Alice hastily swallowed the bite of her scone, before beginning to ramble. "Oh, I've been so busy, I mean, my schedule is pretty crazy, and then when I'm not in class I'm usually helping Megan, my roommate, with her television studies homework, or helping Ronnie by taste testing all the stuff from her courses! I've barely had any time to work on designs, though..." Alice started off strong, but by the end of her little ramble her voice sounded meek and quiet yet again. She just felt guilty, having forgotten about Sam and then having so much fun with her two new friends!

"Television studies? That's a thing? Sounds like a bullshit course." Sam said bluntly.

Ronnie laughed at that, saying, "Yeah, it is... Watch TV and then write a paper about it! What a joke, but still, at least Megan actually does the work."

Sam stared at Ronnie for a moment, fork held in hand with a chunk of her dessert perched upon it. "So... You must be a culinary student... Right?"
