Lexie VanDyne (sexy Lexy to her few "very close" friends) carried her last bit of luggage into her dorm room with a sense of new beginnings tingling about her. She had finally arrived at the illustrious Buttercombe academy, emphasis on finally. It had taken forever for her saxophone playing skills to pay off, what with first having to send the academy a demo CD, and the paperwork, and then she had misspelled her address so then she had to refile, and then finally getting here, the whole damn process had caused her to arrive late for this semester, it was now currently Monday and she had already missed the introductory weekend here at the school.
Lexie breathed a sigh of relief as she gently lowered her saxophone case to the ground and took in the room. It was big, very big, bigger than her room at home. It smelt better too, far different than the house just down the road from a local garbage dump. Lexie already felt like she was going to like it here. She stopped to take a breather sitting down on her Sax case. Oh yeah the case! In case you couldn't tell dear reader, Lexie had been accepted into Buttercombe specifically for her saxophone skills. In school her teachers came to appreciate her genius and talent, unlike her parents who usually were insisting that she not play so loud, or at least so noisy. Lexie couldn't help it though, she loved playing the instrument as loud and hard as she could, especially Jazz solos, letting her fingers go to work while she huffed in puffed it let her go wild!
Which reminded her...The only thing she loved more than making music, was making love. But now she had now left her main squeeze of almost a year now back home. They had both mutually agreed to part ways, both feeling that an open relationship was alright as Lexie was now going to be more than just a few miles a way. Now, momentarily alone in her dorm room, Lexie wished she was back with her love, or that she was here and had someone here to tell her it was going to be okay at this new school, tell her that Lexie was smart enough to be here and had earned her place here, and not to be so damn nervous. Lexie realized she wanted to have someone to snuggle with too, now facing the thought of sleeping alone for the first time in a while without another warm body to keep her company...
She sighed softly, but that's when Lexie remembered...
