Mariska knew that getting the wand back in her bloated form was out of the question, especially once she learned that the clever village wench had used it on her servants, making them teleport her castle far away from the village. So that left her with only one option: visiting Lura Collan, a powerful wizard she had tried to toy with seven decades ago, ending in her stuck in the form of a pig for a month.
So, adopting her most apologetic expression, she set out for the wizard's tower with her servants, occasionally stopping for cows along the way, which explained, when the elven Lura opened her tower door, she saw a chubby vampire with a tubby rear end, a pot-belly that was on the verge of becoming a gut, and a round face.
"Oh great Lura, I require your assistance!"
Lura chuckled inwardly, though outwardly she allowed herself to delight in this undead creature's new figure. It was one of her quirks, as wizard's were often guilty of having them, and one that always brought her heart to hammering whenever she spied a woman's over-fed figure or expanding body. Of her countless female lover's over the centuries, not a one had left her without an extra fifty to a hundred, and in one dwarf's case five hundred, pounds courtesy of Lura's skills in the kitchen and magical prowess.
"Why should I help you?"
"My soul's bond that I will not harm a sentient being for a century, feasting on animals only."
"Are you really so desperate to lose this weight?"
"It's not the weight! It's a damned compulsion from the Wand of Compulsion!"
"Solan's great wand? I won't ask how you came about it. Tricky to dispel but manageable. Send your servants back to your lair and come stay with me and I'll end your compulsion along with your promised soul bond."
Mariska nodded and soon entered the tower, wondering, for a brief moment, if she would have been better off going to grab the wand from the wench instead.
