Chapter #8

"Poof !"

After heaving the "Poof!", the three friends turned around to the source of the sound. If it wasn't for what they saw earlier with the woman, they would have been totally shocked. In place of the remaining pony that Ashley had been tending to, was a small girl around 14 years old. She had an average build, and how flowing brown hair that went down to her shoulders. She had a rather beautiful face with some freckles and had piercing green eyes. She was wearing a plain yellow dress with some boots on.

"Ugh, w-what happened?" asked the girl, seemingly in a daze. Ashley immediately rushed over to help her up.

"Easy now, let me help" said Ashley, assuring the girl. Tom came over and helped with the girl's right side, helping her to stand up. Unlike the woman from earlier, this girl didn't seem to have her bearings correct yet, as her legs continued to wobble underneath.

"A-Am I...h-human again?" asked the girl. Ashley and Tom looked at each other. So this girl used to be human as well.

"Yes, you are. Don't worry, we'll help out" said Ashley, as she and Tom helped the girl slowly walk over to a seat. Adam waited in the back, observing the spectacle.

"Do you remember your name? I mean, your real name?" asked Ashley, hoping to learn more about the girl.

"A-Annie. Annie Wilson" said the girl, able to look up at the group now. Their eyes widened at the name and Adam and Ashlet looked over at Tom. Was there some relation? Tom didn't seem so sure.

"Wait a second guys! 'Wilson' is a common last name. That doesn't mean she's related to me" said Tom. Adam and Ashley looked down, realizing that Tom was right. However, Tom then went into thought. "However, I do recall dad saying that he had a cousin that went missing long ago. Might not be related though" said Tom. Annie's eyes widened and she looked at Tom.

"Your dad? What's his name?" asked Annie. Tom looked at her, perplexed at her question.

"Nate Wilson" stated Tom. Annie gasped, her right hand covering her mouth.

"Y-You're Nate's son? Have I been gone for really that long?" stammered Annie, almost sounding hysterical. Ashley came back over and gently patted Annie on the back, giving her reassurance.

"It's ok, just relax. We'll figure this out" said Ashley. Annie seemingly calmed down after that. She then turned to Tom.

"How do you know my dad?" asked Tom. Annie sighed in thought for a second.

"That story your dad talked about was correct. That cousin of your dad's that went missing was me" stated Annie.

"WHAT?!!" yelled Tom, almost making the shed vibrate at the outburst. Adam actually had to cover his ears briefly. Annie didn't seem to mind. Then, Adam walked over.

"Explain yourself" he stated simply.
