This choice: Five more minutes (Mind of a Ten Year Old) • Go Back...Chapter #5Five more minutes (Mind of a Ten Year Old) by: NVR You actually managed to forgot about your kidnapping and diapered bottom for a good 5 minutes; because something about this block set was so captivating. It felt a bit strange, you didn't own toy blocks as a child, but maybe that contributed to the sense of relaxation your felt using your imagination. You pretended the castle composed of red triangle blocks was under siege by blue enemy squares.
You giggled as you took advantage of being alone, pretending to be the kings of both quarreling castles. Eventually, it was time to bring out the weapons; a rectangle block with imaginary wheels served as a medieval siege weapon. Imaginary armies fought each other to prevent such a terrible machine from destroying the pride of the kingdom.
"Noooo!" You laughed as the rectangle block collided against the red castle's base; effectively knocking it into an avalanche of tiny blocks. From there you used rubble to build different, smaller buildings that would get destroyed too. The losing side forced to give up their resources or witness their buildings be demolished by the blue forces...that is until a huge cilinder block started rolling towards the blue castle!
You couldn't understand why you, a high school girl who enjoyed fashion, music, and parties, were so engrossed with this game. This was the most fun you've felt in ages.
After the destruction of the blue castle, you repeated the actions of the red remnants, and now it looked like a bigger town of smaller buildings with no ruler. So the imaginary people made a truce, and you finished off by sorting all of the pieces and trying to create the best castle you could. Utilizing both the blue and red pieces to construct a dual-colored triangle roof to signal the alliance and a birth of the new kingdom.
When the tale was over you felt overjoyed, and for an instant, wondered what else you could do with those blocks. Suddenly, you began feeling aware of your empty surroundings. Before, you were moreso angry and anxious due to the uncertainty of your situation, but you now felt alone in this unfamiliar place.
You desperately wished for some responsible adult to help you. Where was your mother? You needed her.
Walking with clumsier steps than before, you went back to the note, no longer caring as much about being in diapers and moreso about feeling unable to take care of yourself without the comfort of a grown-up. It didn't exactly encourage you, you knew mom didn't leave that note even if it mentioned someone should be with you soon, and it left you with questions. Weren't the FBI suppose to be the nice cops? Are the FBI cops? For some reason, you couldn't remember what exactly FBI meant. Either way, Why would they leave you in a place you wouldn't like? You couldn't make sense of it.
The feeling of loneliness didn't go away, but you walked back towards the toys wondering if you should keep playing until an adult arrived, or do something else
