You try to think of something to talk about an settle on. "I thought you were really good in the school play."

"Thanks." She smiles. "It was a lot of fun. Why weren't you in it?"

"I don't think I'm a very good actor." You say "I probably would have forgotten all my lines."

"Don't be silly." she says. "I'm sure you would have been great."

You smile back at her. "Maybe I'll try this year."

"You should." She says. "You'll have fun. I promise."

The conversation flow easily and the time flies by until Susan says "When is this driver going to stop? I really need to use the toilet."

"I'm sure he'll need to stop for petrol soon." You reassure her.

"I hope so." she says.
