It started out as a thin line barely the width of his finger, that swirled and curved up and down, gaining height with each step they took. But as they neared the end of the staircase, the line got thicker and thicker, smaller lines seeming to join it, to conglomerate into one larger piece. It looked really cool, he thought. The only sounds they heard though, were of their steps on the stone and the clanking of Erza's armor as she moved. He didn't like silence that much.
"So, once we do this, anyone planning to do anything special with the reward we're going to get?" Gray asked. Cana shrugged.
"Beer, probably. Mira got on my case again for drinking too much of the guild's stock, so I'm going to go at least a day or two just going through my own brews so she backs down some, you know how she gets," the scantily-clad woman said.
"Clothing for me," Erza said. "There are some new Heart Kreuz pieces coming out soon that I think look quite nice."
"Don't you already have a million clothes anyway?" Gray asked.
"Not even near that many," Erza said. "Right now I have about 85 sets of armor, and only about twenty or so pairs of casual clothes," she retorted.
"Ah, sorry," Gray said. "What about you, Juvia?" he asked.
"Mmm, Juvia isn't sure, but does Gray have any idea what Juvia should buy?" she asked, holding her hands together and looking up at him.
"Well, I doubt you'd want what I was thinking, since it's, oh, we're here," Gray said. It didn't seem like he was intentionally putting off what he intended, but was just focused on the mission. "So, what do you think, the last one needed 100 pounds, so this is probably 110 or maybe 120, so you can probably do it again Juvia."
"Oh, if Gray-sama wishes it," the blue-haired mage said, going to step on the panel.   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
