Jen ran to the back a bit before coming back, a deck of cards in her hands.
"I know the boss kept a deck of cards in the break room," the Boss, as Jen put it, was their manager Tom, who was out sick today, leaving the two bored teenagers (and now their friend) alone and in charge "we could play a little game of chance."
"Here we go." Yuki muttered, quite accustomed to Jen's shenanigans.
"Oh come on, Yuki, you'll love it, I know." Jen pleaded with Yuki, she reached out and grabbed Karen's shoulder, as if to present her as a gift "Karen will play too, come on!"
"I'm in if Yuki's in." Karen smiled awkwardly, dreading where this was going.
"Alright already, I'll play," Yuki caved in, then realized she just agreed to something she didn't know about, and decided to remedy that "so what are we playing?"
"It's called spades," Jen explained, searching through the deck for a card of each suit "you pull a diamond or club card, you pass the turn, if it's a club, you get to pick the loser, but if you draw a spade, you lose yourself."
"Sounds simple enough, what are we playing for?" Karen asked the big question, and Jen answered, impishly grinning.
