The gun started to whir loudly in his paws as the trigger was depressed, Tyler looking down into the barrel of it and seeing the inside of it starting to turn a dull, but brightening shade of red. His tail tucked reflexively around one of his legs out of nervousness, suddenly unnerved as he saw the energy building inside the ray. He started to lower it down, having second thoughts, before rather abruptly the energy inside the ray peaked, and a thick blast of red light shot out of the barrel and smashed right into Tyler's chest. He felt like he had just been punched, and was sent stumbling backwards until his back smacked against the far wall, the gun dropping from his paws and clattering down to the ground, a tiny wisp of smoke raising up from the barrel of it.

Tyler felt his body beginning to fill with a strange tingling flush, that spread from where the ray had hit him in the chest, and extended out through the rest of his torso and along his extremities. His eyes went wide and his lips curled into a triumphant grin as he felt that sensation running through him.

“Oooh, Yes...! here we go!” He growled out happily, staring down at his own body expectantly, ready for his legs to suddenly shred his shorts or his head to abruptly smack against the ceiling... he had no idea if his clothes were going to grow or not, and before he knew it he found himself mentally debating whether he hoped they would or not. Seconds turned into minutes, and Tyler started to snap out of his internal thoughts when he began to realize that tingling sensation was fading... and everything around him looked the same. He wasn't suddenly looking eye to eye with a door frame, his shirt hadn't split down the front or back, he wasn't smashing his way out of his house like some kind of growing Godzilla monster. He felt his earfins and tail wilt in disappointment, and glared down at the gun. “Great, what a rip off. Got my hopes up for some fancy looking plant fertilizer.” He huffed out poutily, leg cocking back and carelessly kicking the gun across the floor, where it skidded underneath the couch.

With a sigh he turned and made his way back to his bedroom, plopping himself down on the bed and starting to thumb through a comic book. He was still pissed about the ray. He had been so excited about it, even if it was such a silly and stupid thought. Really? A ray gun that made someone bigger or smaller? How gullible and desperate was he? He finished flipping through the comic then gave a depressed sigh, glancing over at the clock and seeing it blinking 8:30. David must still be out at the gym.

“Screw it. I'm going to bed, I'm sick of today” he huffed aloud to noone in particular, before starting to undress himself. He threw his tennis shoes across the room near his desk, his shirt and pants ending up thrown into the middle of the room, and his underwear ending up draped across the back of his computer chair. Stark naked, he walked his way into the bathroom and took a quick, steamy shower to help relax him, before plopping himself back down in his bed in a fresh pair of underwear, curling up beneath the blankets and letting himself drift off to sleep...

If only Tyler hadn't been drying his hair with a towel when he walked past his bedroom door, and had seen that he was eye level with his current height-mark, the one that had been there for almost 2 years, at the 5 foot even mark. The little purple dragon, sprawled out underneath the thick heavy comforter, was slowly starting to stretch taller... swelling larger, fractions of inches at a time. It wasn't entirely his fault that he hadn't noticed... it was slow... at least for the moment. And, surprisingly, he wasn't the only thing that was growing. The small blue jean pants that he had been wearing, the loose fitting dark red T shirt he had on earlier, those snug fitting white briefs, and even the thick black tennis shoes that he had been wearing earlier all were ever so slowly starting to swell and increase in size just as Tyler was... ever so slowly expanding tiny percentages larger every minute... and Tyler was going to have quite the surprise to look forward too when he awoke in the morning... for over the course of the night, Tyler had...
