Alex was stretched across the living room couch when he heard his mother call his name. He instinctively followed the voice upstairs, tracing it to Melody's room. The door was open, so he wandered in, finding Sarah and Melody smiling at him.
"Hey there, ladies," he said. "Did you guys need me for something?"
Sarah whipped a remote from behind her back. Melody could barely contain her laughter.
A growing light engulfed Alex's vision, slowly blocking the bedroom from him. He wondered if he was blind. He couldn't tell what was happening, just that he was moving. When the light faded, he found himself sprawled out across a firm, pink surface. He pulled himself up, only to fall back when he saw what was in front of him.
A giant eyeball gazed down at him. It was easily twice his size, maybe bigger, and a deep blue. It was plainly a girl's eye, framed with dark mascara and subtle traces of eyeshadow. And all it did was stare.
Don't move, don't move... Alex's body went rigid, haunted by unwilling spasms. He tried not to look into the pupil, but it seemed to take his entire field of vision.
Finally, a deep laugh roared through the sky. It was somewhere between demonic cackle and girlish giggle.
"Oh, my little Alex," a deep voice roared, "you look so cute at 1/4 of an inch!"
"What?!"
"Sorry hon, can't hear you." This can't be his mother....
Her behemoth of a thumb slammed into Alex, pinning him against her index finger. A quick jolt and he found himself...
