Allison didn’t bring her sweatpants to school since she didn’t have P.E. that day, so she didn’t have that to change into. She also didn’t have a jacket she could wrap around her waist. Then she thought of something.
“Marie, do you have something I can borrow?,” she said.
“Sorry, but no,” said Marie. “What I’m wearing is all I have. Why don’t you try the lost and found?”
“I didn’t think of that. Thanks.”
While Marie went to class, Allison, holding her bag behind her to cover the hole, went to the lost and found. She didn’t find any clothes there. Then she came up with another idea. “Sewing class,” she thought.
Allison went there. The teacher, Mrs. Miller, was just leaving the room.
“Mrs. Miller. Can I use one of the sewing machines?,” said Allison.
“Why?,” said Mrs. Miller.
“I, um, ripped my pants.”
“Oh. Well, you can go in. I’m locking the door, so when you’re leaving, you’ll close it.”
“I will. Thank you.”
Mrs. Miller left and Allison went inside and shut the door. She was glad to be alone in the room, but she was still worried that someone would see her. She was on the first floor, and thought that someone would walk past the windows or look through the glass on the door and see her. She took off her sneakers and checked to see if anyone was watching. Then she took off her pants and began sewing up the hole in them as quickly as she could.
