Rouge sighed and looked at her watch as she waited for Tails to come out of his lab. The child prodigy had invited her over to share the prototype of his latest invention, and since she had nothing better to do that afternoon, she decided to humor him. Still, she wished the little twerp had at least made sure that the prototype was ready before inviting her, so she wouldn't have to wait.
Eventually, he emerged from the lab with a glass of frothing neon liquid.
"Presenting the Mega Shake!" he announced with pride. "It's a special concoction designed to dramatically increase your strength and endurance. Give it a try!"
Rouge took the glass in her hand and examined it. The pungent aroma of the potion gave her pause.
"Go on, try it!" he said.
She eyed him skeptically. "Well, okay. But if this makes me sick, you're paying for my medical bills."
With that, she raised the glass to her lips and chugged it down, wincing and shuddering from the powerfully bitter flavor.
