Morning in the Stevenson household is like morning anywhere else. Jenna and Tim wake up earlier than they'd like; they briefly squabble over who has to go grab the paper.
Jenna loses the argument this time. Tim probably will tomorrow.
Yawning, the enormous woman slides on her robe, and heads down the stairs, while Tim goes to wake up Emily and start trying to wake up the teenagers, Brianna and Jake. She slides into her slippers and pads down the stairs, across to the door, and pausing just long enough to regard her 40-year-old self in the mirror, opens the door and bends down for the paper.
She grabs it quickly and turns, closing the door and padding back up the stairs. It's not exactly an arduous trip; she still runs fifteen miles a week, and she looks...okay, not 25, but maybe 35. She carries the paper into the room and drops it onto the bed while she waits for her husband to finish his shower. Kicking her slippers off, she folds her legs under her and peruses the headlines.
