Chapter #3

Body Bet

    by: Unknown
After you’re done eating you see your phone is about to die, “Hey I’ll be right back, I’m going to grab my phone charger out of the truck.” You say, as you search your truck you find the book that didn’t fit in the box. So you pick it up and bring it inside. “Hey look what I found.” You say putting the book on the coffee table. “Oh yeah, my bad I’ll just return it in the morning.” She says

As you walk over to plug up your phone she picks up the book and looks at it, “You know it’s weird; there isn’t any writing on the outside of the book, not even a symbol. How are you suppose to know what it is?” she ask, “Maybe it’s handmade and the owner never planned on selling it.” You say. She then opens it to a random page, “Wow I’ve never see writing like this before.” She says, “Cool, let me see.” You say, she then hands you the book, “Wow me neither, but for some reason I think I understand it.” You say pointing it out to her, “What do you mean, it’s nothing but weird symbols?” she says, “I didn’t say I could read it, it’s just like my brain naturally understands it.” You say, “Here try again, but don’t try to read it just look at it.” You say smiling.

You hand her the book and she stares at the page, at first it is sarcastically as though she was just humoring you, but then she her expression turned serious.

“No way you’re right.” She says as she turns the page, “But how is that possible, what does it say?” you ask, “Well in best place to start is the beginning, let’s see what the first page says.” She says, “Good idea.” You say

She then lays the book onto the coffee table and flips to the first page. The two of you then begin reading, or at least understanding what it the symbols mean.

Moments later the two of you silently sit back on the couch, “Wait are we sure this thing isn’t fiction?” you ask, “Well we just ‘read’ a book in a language we have never seen and since we found this in an old abandoned house I doubt this is the latest technology.” She says, “So let’s see if I’m getting this right. It’s says that this book is not magic, and the reason we can naturally understand it is because it is written in the original language.” You say

“Yeah that’s what I got to and that this book contains knowledge that has been past down since ‘the beginning.’ To preserve that which has been lost to time and legend.” She says

“Yeah are we sure this isn’t fiction cause this sounds like an awesome movie.” You say

“Yeah I agree.” She says, “So let’s see what sort of lost knowledge this thing possesses?” you say picking up the book and flipping the page. “Okay let’s see, trading bodies?” you say

“Wait really let me see?” she says, the two of you then quickly read the entire first chapter. “Yeah that’s what it says alright.” She says, “It says that human beings can naturally exchange bodies.” You say

“Yeah it says that the soul is what is important and the body is its home, so a bodies original soul does have presidency over it, but under the right circumstances two people can trade bodies.” She says

“So all the movies are wrong? They came up with magic and technology but they never considered two people could just agree to do it?” you say laughing

Jess then turns to you with a big smile on her face, “let’s try it!” she exclaimed, “Wait what?” you say, “Let’s try to switch bodies.” She says, “You can’t be serious.” You say, “Yea I am come on.” She says excitedly, “Come on it’ll be fun, now let’s see it saw that we just need to agree to the terms, you know how long, or what we would have to do while in the others body. “No way.” You say, “Oh come on, just to see if it works.” She says pouting

“Oh alright, how about this, we’ll flip a coin and you call it in the air, if your right we swap for one minute, deal?” She says smiling as she pulls a quarter out of her pocket

She then tosses it in the air.

“Heads.” You say causally, she catches it and places it on the top of her hand, “Heads it is.” She says

Suddenly what you’re looking at changes, it was like switching from one channel to the next. One moment you were looking at Jesse and the next you’re looking at the coin on your now manicured hand! You’re both speechless that it actually worked, even though you knew exactly what had just happened you still didn’t want to believe it, so you rushed to the closest mirror!

What body do you see?

(Okay now up until this point I haven’t given a physical description of either of them. So now you can decide what you and Jess look like. Please use pictures if possible.)

You have the following choices:

1. Jess Body 1

2. Jess Body 2

*Noteb*
3. Jess Body 3

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
