Soul Eater Evans was laying down on his bed; sunlight filtering in through the window right on his face. With an annoyed groan Soul woke up and his red eyes fluttered open. He glanced over at the digital clock next to his bed and sighed.
“Man, why does Maka have to be so protective?” Soul said to himself as he sat up in his bed and looked down at himself. Yesterday the two of them had been ambushed by a couple witches on their way back from a mission. It was pretty hairy, but both of them escaped unscathed.
Well…almost unscathed.
Soul lifted up his yellow and black jacket and glared at the black symbol decorating his belly. One of the witches had hit him with a spell while in scythe form. While relatively unharmed, it had left him with his odd fly-shaped mark. The moment they got back to Death City Maka had insisted that Soul stay at home while she searched for any info on the spell at Shibusen.
“Knowing her she’ll be in that library all day.” Soul muttered to himself as he let himself fall back on the bed with his arms laced behind his head (which he turned away from the window). “If it didn’t do anything then it isn’t going to do anything now.” Soul told himself before going back to sleep a minute later.
Ten minutes passed before Soul was awoken once again. This time it wasn’t because of the sunlight, however, but because of the terrible pain coming from his stomach. Soul shot up and hugged his gut with both arms while his face twisted with pain. It felt like he had suddenly been decked in the stomach by Black Star…using BOTH his fists!
“The hell is this?” Soul grunted as he slowly got out of bed and wobbled out of his bedroom. He made his way toward the bathroom, but something told him he wasn’t going to make it that far. His vision was getting blurry and it was difficult to walk straight. Soul smacked into the right wall and slid to his knees. The world seemed to melt around him before he lost consciousness and collapsed in the middle of the hallway.
Soul didn’t know how much time had passed before he woke up. As he sat up he held his head and hissed in pain.
“Ugh…if this is what a hangover feels like I’m never drinking.” Soul joked to himself as he shook the dizziness away and made his way to the bathroom.
…at least he would of if the sight before he hadn’t frozen him in his tracks. Soul’s jaw dropped as he gazed up at the MASSIVE hallway he was in. The doors on either side of him stretched up like skyscrapers; it was unbelievable. Next to him were a couple misplaced books and magazines, but Soul mistook them for buildings! This wasn’t his apartment! This was the apartment…of a giant!
“W-Where the hell am I?” Soul took a few steps backwards. His foot got caught in something and he fell back with a yelp; slamming his back against the hard wooden floor. Soul winced and rubbed his back while he looked down at his foot. His shoe had gotten caught in a hole…and then it dawned on Soul. He knew this hole…it was one of many that dotted his apartment. They were common in such a cheap place like his. But this was impossible; he couldn’t fit his fingernail through those holes yet it looked like he could squeeze both his legs through this one! “What the hell is going on?” Soul stood up again and took a minute to clear his head. He thought for a moment before lifting his jacket up and noting that the weird mark was gone. “Damn it! That thing must if shrunk me!” Soul cursed as he let his jacket fall back into place before returning his gaze to the giant apartment…HIS giant apartment. “Maka was right. If this had happened out in public…” Soul shuddered at the thought. It was a good thing he was alone. He just had to find a safe place before-
“Hey, anyone home?” came another voice out of the blue. Soul’s eyes widened as he heard a door open and close, followed by the sound of someone walking around the apartment. Their footsteps sounded like explosions in the distance to the minuscule Soul. Someone had just invited themselves into his home…and judging by their voice Soul knew exactly who it was!
