Annabeth was out for a walk in the woods near where her mum, dad and two little brothers lived. No monsters seemed to bother her anymore due to Kronos being sent back to Tartarus a couple of months ago.
"Sure is peaceful in the woods today! Hmmm....... Quiet too. There's usually birds in the trees and the occasional squirrel.", Annabeth said, looking around for any signs of life.
Looking through some trees in the distance, she sees a faint glow which got her curiosity up.
"That glow looks interesting. It wouldn't be a trap, no one knows I'm a demigod. Well, except my family."
As Annabeth approached the source of the glow, she found out it was a shallow pond
"Ohhhhh...", exclaimed Annabeth. "I had hoped for something more exciting."
As she turned around to head home, she heard a voice.
"Welcome......... To the Pond...... Of Wishing........"
Annabeth spun round, drawing her knife.
"Who's there?", she called out, brandishing her knife.
"Annabeth Chase....... I grant you......... One wish........"
Annabeth was intrigued by this. One wish? She had a lot of things on her mind she could've wished for, but she chose one she though would never happen to her.
"I'd quite like to raise a family. You know, a husband, two children, something like that. Can you grant that?", Annabeth asked.
"Of course......... It is done"
As soon as the word "Done" was said, Annabeth felt a searing pain in her gut.
She grabbed her belly to try and ease the pain, but it was no good.
She lost conscience.
When Annabeth awoke......
