A large rubber band

You notice a very large rubber band on your bedside table. Not recognizing it, you pick it up and wrap it around your arm. Then your alarm goes off. When you reach to turn it off your arm stretches beyond its normal length. You try again and you stretch all the way across the room and open your closet and grab the dress you plan on wearing to school. You can't believe what just happened. Thinking it might be related to the rubber band you take it off. When you try to stretch again you realize you can't. The power is related to the rubber band. Since you want to keep it on but in a non obvious place you use it to put your hair in a pony tail. You get dressed, eat, and head to school.
