Cameron first tried seeing if either of his best friends Jordyn and Mitch were available. As they were his closest friends, he always thought to try them first. He sent each of them a text, but, unfortunately, both of them replied that they were busy today. Jordyn was out with her friends Maggy and Jen, and Mitch had to go to some family thing.
Since neither of them were free, Cameron tried texting his friend Kat instead. He shot her a message asking if she wanted to hang out and a few moments later she replied with a yes. Kat told him to come over as soon as he was ready so he wasted no time. Cam put on his black and white skate shoes and headed out.
Kat only lived a few blocks over so Cam opted to walk. About ten minutes later, he arrived at his friend's house and rang the bell. After a moment, the door opened to reveal Kat's mother Juliana. She was was wearing a low-cut pink top, a knee-length black skirt, and a pair of black pumps. "Oh, hello Cam," she greeted him with a warm smile, a hint of her native Brazilian accent coming through. "Good to see you. Come in, come in."
"Hi, Mrs. Hernandez," Cameron replied as he entered.
"How are you doing?" Juliana asked.
"I'm good, thanks," Cam said.
"Good to hear. Kat's up in her room."
"Cool, thanks," Cam nodded before heading upstairs.
Approaching Kat's room, he spotted her sprawled out on her bed with her earbuds in. She hopped up when she saw Cam. "Hey dude!" she called out as she pulled her earbuds out.
"Jeeze, I'm right here, no need to shout," Cam responded.
"Sorry, music was playing," said Kat. She pocketed her phone and smoothed out her outfit, which consisted of a loose-fitting light grey t-shirt and some blue jeans. "Anyway, what's up?" she then asked.
"Not much, really," Cam told her. "How about you?"
"Not much, just chilling," said Kat. "What do you wanna do?"
"I'm not sure, honestly," Cam admitted. "Got any ideas?"
"Hmm," said Kat. "Let me think."
