As they walked, Kiba's sensitive nose picked up something positively delectable in the air. Grinning, he sniffed. "Ah man...do ya smell that?"
Against his better judgment, Akamaru sniffed the air. Immediately his tail started wagging. Yeah, I smell that. Mmm, smells great...
Naruto, curious, sniffed the air. "I don't smell anything," he replied, frowning.
Kiba looked at him oddly, then smirked. "Ah yeah, that's right; sometimes I forget not everyone has our sense of smell." He shrugged. "You'll start smelling it soon enough, though." Naruto grumbled something about "stuck-up Inuzukas" under his breath, but otherwise said nothing.
Chuckling, Kiba continued leading the other two, maintaining a brisk pace in spite of his massive midsection, apparently not caring that his shirt was resting on top of it and completely exposing the orb of flesh that was his belly.
A few minutes passed, and Naruto was just about to start complaining when something caught his notice; curious, he sniffed the air. "Hey, that smells really good!" In spite of himself, he grinned.
Kiba grinned back. "Heh, told ya." He began strolling as quickly as his gut would allow him. "C'mon, we're almost there!" Naruto and Akamaru, the latter groaning to himself, followed close behind.
Before long, the three came to a large, brick building; though it looked fairly unassuming, the sheer volume of delicious scents coming out of it overwhelmed them, and their mouths began watering. In spite of this, Naruto managed to speak. "A...a bakery?"
Kiba nodded, smiling. "Yep! I've been here a few times already; they've got really great stuff!"
Akamaru, in spite of himself, chipped in. Yeah, and their jelly donuts? Oh man...
The dog nin grinned. "Heh, my thoughts exactly, boy." He walked to the door and pushed it open, gesturing for the other two to follow.
Once they were inside, Kiba strolled up to the counter, grinning. "Hey, it's me again!" The man at the desk gaped at Kiba's fully exposed, engorged stomach, but seeing as how he'd been in here several times already, wasn't all that surprised. "Erm...yes." He cleared his throat. "What would you like?"
Kiba didn't waste a second. "Six dozen donuts, ten apple pies, three dozen cinnamon rolls, and five quadruple-decker marble cakes. Biggest ya got, too!"
The man's eyes widened, even as he scribbled all this down. "Al-alright; anything else?"
Instead of answering, Kiba looked towards Naruto. The blonde, who had been distracted looking at all the treats available, snapped to attention. "H-huh?"
Kiba rolled his eyes." Whaddaya want, dummy?"
Naruto flushed a bit at the insult, but he quickly cheered up, remembering he could get as much as he wanted. "I'd like five dozen sticky buns, eight dozen cupcakes, ten dozen muffins, eight blueberry pies, and four triple-decker chocolate cakes. Also, the biggest you got!"
The man's eyes widened even further as he scribbled it all down. "Anything...else?"
Kiba grinned down at Akamaru. The dog whined, but figured that as long as he was here...
Oh, fine, Akamaru growled. Tell him I want four dozen jelly donuts, five dozen blueberry muffins, eight dozen of whatever cookies they have that don't have chocolate, and three vanilla cakes with buttercream icing. Grinning, Kiba relayed this all to the man. By now, the man's mouth was opening and closing like a fish out of water, but he nonetheless continued to scribble everything down.
"Al-alright," the man stuttered once everything was written down. "I-I'll have everything out as soon as possible." He motioned to one of the nearby tables. "Just, uh, take a seat there." With that, the man went into the back to retrieve what they'd asked for, mumbling to himself. Shrugging, Kiba led Naruto and Akamaru over to the indicated table, where they promptly sat down in the rather comfortable seats (though Kiba had to sit a little further away from the table).
The two humans exchanged idle chatter and banter, while Akamaru occasionally chimed in. He still wasn't sure about this, but there was no denying the stuff here was really good...
Soon, several attendants brought out their individual orders, setting the overloaded platters down on the table, which creaked but held. In the meantime, a couple more attendants set Akamaru's order down in front of the dog.
Naruto gaped at the sheer size of the baked goods, but Kiba and Akamaru, used to this by now, simply licked their lips and muzzle, respectively. "Wow...that...that's a lot," Naruto managed.
Kiba smirked. "Well, what didja expect?" He picked up a donut with chocolate frosting and sprinkles. "Well, don't just sit there; dig in!" With that, Kiba took a massive bite.
Naruto, raising an eyebrow, picked up a chocolate chip muffin and took a bite. His eyes widened. "Oh man...Kiba, these are awesome! They're warm, and moist, and..." unable to keep going on, Naruto swallowed and took another bite. Akamaru rolled his eyes, even as he took a bite of his jelly donuts, the powdered sugar and jelly practically exploding onto his tongue. Ooohhh, that's good...
Naruto and Kiba continued tearing into their muffins and donuts, respectively, savoring the taste of each. Mmmm, Naruto thought as he gleefully polished off the muffin and grabbed a sticky bun and a handful of cookies, cramming them both into his mouth. This stuff is awesome! Can't wait to see what the rest tastes like...
