As you rise off the floor you can't help, but utter a low groan. "Stangly!", you shout to another Lt. who is in charge of troop assignment. "What teams are ready for deployment?" The officer turns with a bloodied forehead in a low voice groggy voice replies, "teams one through twenty-three have yet to report, how ever teams twenty-four, forty-three, and..." he trails off looking through his console for other available teams. after what seems like an eternity he finally replies "twenty-one and four have reported in stating they can be ready in fifteen minutes". still a little shaking you grab you command computer for support as you command him, "get squads forty-three and four on two pelican flights to scout the area. In the mean-" you were interrupted by a corporal who was just assigned to the ship as radar and signal specialist. "captain we got life readings about twenty clicks to the west and north east. I've also picked up a settlement 10 kilometers to the south not much life there." he gazes into his screen then gives another report "and unknowns heading this way from the south-west" you look down to the ground troubled by the events before addressing the entire bridge. "okay people we got company coming! Stangly I want all other stations combat ready! corporal send distress beacon to any other UNSC ship any where near this location! Drocks! I want a full report from engineering in fifteen minutes! Contact me on com I'll be assessing ships internal damage." You turn to head for the elavator that leads up from the bridge. As you step into the small box you gaze at the multiple floors you could choose from.
