It was Ino! And her boyfriend Sai was right behind her. Sakura’s face flushed red. Did Ino hear her? There was no way Ino would ever let Sakura live this down. Sakura was not oblivious to the deviant nature of her fantasy, which was why she never said it out loud. But the one time she slipped up in a tipsy state, the worst possible person just had to be there! Oh god! Her alter ego screamed at her, fuming at the idiot before her who coaxed her into this confession. But all was not lost yet. Maybe Ino did not hear it. Sakura stared blankly at her childhood friend and rival, her mind rushing through various excuses. Even if Ino had not heard it, there was a decent chance that the dummy before her would spill everything if Ino prodded. Sakura chuckled nervously, trying to find her composure.
“Hi, Ino. Fancy seeing you here, with a… friend nonetheless.”
Sakura’s lips curled into a sly grin, trying to shift the focus onto Ino’s date instead.
“Says the woman three bottles down with a ‘friend’.”
Ino teased her back, chuckling with a hand covering her mouth as she glanced at the blonde hero who had nearly passed out. Naruto’s face was resting on the table, his eyelids heavy. He drowsily waved his arm, muttering a barely intelligible “Hello…” before slumping back onto the table.
Sakura sighed in relief. That was one less problem to worry about. She could spin the story as she wanted even if Ino inquired. It was not like Naruto wishing to be her slave was unbelievable. After all, the boy spent most of his adolescence hopelessly chasing after the pink-haired kunoichi. Sakura swooped in at the opportunity, pretending to be a noble friend. Irrespective of whether Ino heard it or not, Sakura could simply deny the allegations, playing it off as her trying to protect Naruto’s weird fantasies.
Sakura extended her arm, threading her digits through Naruto’s blond hair and ruffling it. Gosh! That felt better than she wanted to admit. Even though she was merely ruffling her passed-out friend’s hair, it gave her a sense of superiority.
“He is such a good boy. Isn't he? I had a rough day at work. So, he offered to buy me drinks and keep me company. My mood is much better now, but I guess I'll have to carry him home now.”
Sakura sighed, getting up from her seat. She lifted Naruto effortlessly and threw him over her shoulder. Despite being a woman and relegated to healing duties these days, Sakura still possessed superhuman physical strength. Carrying Naruto home was honestly the least of her worries right now.
