invited Gretchen's friend to breakfast.

...invited her friends Angie and Trina over for breakfast. Erin was even more embarrassed by having to wear very little in front of not one, but three people.

"Um, hi," said Erin to Angie and Trina. They didn't respond.

For the next few minutes, no one said anything. They just ate. Then Erin broke the silence.

"We have to leave for school soon," she said. "Can I have my clothes back?"

"Oh. I forgot to tell you," said Gretchen. "We're not going to school today. We're cutting."

Erin had never missed school before, except for whenever she was sick. "We can't do that."

"Yes we can."

"Then you go and I'll go to school."

"Are you planning to go there in your robe?"

"Please give me my clothes."

"Only if you go with us."

Erin didn't have much of a choice. She couldn't go to school in a robe. She couldn't go anywhere like that. "Okay."

"Good. We'll leave in half an hour."
