Snape was not the only many of the instructors even Professor Dumbledore were shocked when the Sorting Hat placed Harry in Slytherin. The Sorting continued with Draco Malfoy and as soon as the Hat touches Draco's head the it shouts out GRYFFINDON! which caused even more shock at the Slytherin table especially the boy sitting next to Harry who's mouth dropped open in surprise.
