Chapter #4Lance, a good friend. by: Apollo While certainly not the last person Monica wanted seeing her like this, she still wasn't comfortable with Lance seeing. He was usually a nice enough guy if a bit of a delinquent, but even in his loose jeans Monica could see them getting tighter around the fly, and when his little head got any blood his big head shut off. Dressed in her normal clothes, Monica had no problems being around Lance, since her more conservative attire kept Lance's libido in check and one of her best guy friends to be enjoyable company. Dressed like this, however, Monica was trembling at just the thought of what Lance might do. He was controlled enough to not force anyone to do anything they didn't want, but he was also a smooth talker - Lance once convinced her she had plenty of time to get home from a party, but then Mary was breathing down Monica's neck for a day for breaking curfew.
"Let me guess," Lance continued. "Your mother's punishing you for something."
"I brought home two F's," Monica mumbled.
Lance nodded, "So since you didn't pay attention in school, the school's now going to pay attention to you."
"Not anymore," Monica said. "As soon as I get these shoes off, I'm getting out of here."
"Dressed like that?"
Monica had finally gotten her shoe unbuckled, and now Lance made her heart sink. When taking into account the roads Monica would have to travel along, the shortest route home was at least a one mile walk. Worse yet, that route was the main road of the city and would take her passed elementary schools, middle schools, stores, and plenty of houses. A more secluded route would take her in giant circles and force her to walk more like five miles. And while it's still early morning, who knows what could be on some of those roads.
Lance continued, "And where would you go, anyway?"
"Shut up!" Monica hollered, blasting Lance back a step.
Mary was on her way home right now if she wasn't there already. If Monica went home, her mother might instantly take her back to school, no discussions, and this time might make her punishment worse to ensure she doesn't run away. Monica isn't guaranteed having a chance to negotiate with Mary until the school day is over. But if Monica doesn't go home, then where could she go for six hours?
"Easy," Lance chimed in gently. "I was thinking of taking a personal day myself and was going to suggest heading out with me. Although, I would recommend keeping your shoes on. A motorcycle doesn't have much for storage."
Monica wasn't sure if that was better or worse than going alone. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
