This choice: Catwoman came across her first obstacle. • Go Back... Progressing through the passage ahead, Selina was distraught by how much bigger everything had become. She felt a constant itch in her new costume, a blue frilly dress presented to her after she first shrunk. She'd rather continue in the nude if she knew that the Riddler wasn't watching. She already agreed to take on his outrageous challenge, so she wasn't prepared to give him the satisfaction of watching her in her nude, no matter how small she was.
She soon reached her first obstacle. In a square room, she noticed the small entrance to some kind of ventilation system high above. The vent was big enough for a normal-sized person to squeeze in. Unfortunately however, it was far too high, it was completely out of her reach. If she was normal-sized she would have easily entered the vent, or if she at least had her whip with her she could have climbed up to the vent, but alas, she had neither size or equipment, other than the frilly dress that constantly scratched her otherwise smooth skin.
"Well, well, well," Selina looked up to see the Riddler's face on another monitor, smirking at her defeated stance, "Can it be that the great Catwoman has been defeated by a vent in the wall? Is she so small that she can't even figure out how to reach the next part of my maze?"
The gloating was almost endless. "Or is she so stupid that she even failed to notice the three pieces of gum sitting in the corner?" With that said, Selina followed his finger, finding three small pieces of blue candy, possibly gum, sitting in the corner. "At last," the Riddler added, "For a moment, I thought you lost your sight as well as that ludicrous costume of yours!"
Inspecting the three pieces of gum, small enough for her to hold in one hand, Selina was once again distracted by the sound of Edward Nygma's voice. "It's perfectly understandable my dear little kitten. Only one of those sweets will enable you to reach your next destination. The other two however, well, let's just say that you won't be so lucky. All you have to do is choose one. But do choose wisely. Oh, and you'd better choose quickly, before the room fills with poisonous gas."
Distressed, Selina struggled to make her decision. She had to choose quickly, before the Riddler filled her lungs with poison, then she may never be able to leave his dreaded maze at all!  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
