"Big boy, no more..." Ivy taunted before returning her attentions to the caped crusader, who was charging towards her.
The warning cry was too late, as Robin was half hidden by the cloud. His lips pressed tight together, with the guard struggling beneath him. He could see spots of compound speckling his outfit. Even as the mist swirled about him, his eyes stinging, it penetrated his clothes. Just a stain remaining on the surface as it went through the material, and into his skin...
As it entered his veins, he started bucking wildly. His mouth bursting open as a pain filled scream erupted. The gas entered his lungs and the effect doubled. Crawling free of the entangling guard, his vision was fading, his eyelids fluttering as unconsciousness claimed him.
Blurred outline of thorny vines shredding the ties that bound Ivy in place. A titanic crack, as the concrete shattered beneath their feet. Tendrils rising high, clawing for the ceiling, for the Sun, Ivy stood imperious and cold atop one sturdy branch. There was a thunderous crash, as the shattered the glass. Allowing Ivy to escape, and forcing Batman to leap toward the quaking and twitching Robin. Shielding him with his cape as the razor sharp glass fell in lethal shards all around them.
The effect of the compound meant Batman couldn't remove his respirator, as he scooped up the unconscious boy wonder. His eyes open, but glazed and unfocused. Carrying him outside to the fresh air, and freedom. He could only regret leading another into danger.
